fiesta 1.4 ghia...good buy?

Any advise on this would be appriecated.

Helping elderly aunt buy car..

under the 10k and small class car.

Looking at fiesta 03, 1.4 ghia....hatch 4 door


Price approx .€8,500 40,000 miles on it

drove it and nice and peppy as ecpected from the 1.4 handles well and nice trim etc as iis a ghia....find the breaks a little non convincing,tho this seems to be in a lot of smaller cars...also rattle in the shelf at the back which I have found in a lot of hatches!!!


Dies anyone know it this would be a good buy, is the 1.4 a good engine,would be rare enought in fiestas!!

A good car. My Mum had 3 or 4 of them from new. All 1.4 Ghias.

The 1.4 is the Zetec engine which is a huge improvement over the old Ford engine.Its very sensitive to oil requiring a special 5w30 grade and regular oil changes.If it has a good continuous service history you're sorted!A lovely car especially in Ghia trim.
