We either have a general election every 4 years or when the current govt call one. Is that right?

what are the possibilites of another election or what does support for the govt have to go to before there is one?

Election can be up to every FIVE years viz. General Elections in 1997, 2002 and 2007.

Possibility is unlikely in the short term. It actually suits Fine Gael and Labour to stay in Opposition during this period as FF will continue to get hit as a result of the tanking economy and their own ineptitude...
