I want to put about 30ft of picket fencing in the back garden - 7ft tall. I priced 4x1.5inch rough treated timber at €8.95 per 15ft length so that comes to about €500 euro for the timber, anyone know if this is a good price for the timber?

I priced Picket Fencing from a Timber yard 6 x 6 Fencing or 1.8 x 1.8 these cost €42.00 for 6' high and 6' long all timber was pressure treated looked really nice clonee sawmills i think was the name.

Hi, I got my fencing in B&Q Liffey Valley. The guy doing the decking for me said he could have got them cheaper for me wholesale, so when I told him the price B&Q charged even with delivery, he was well impressed and said he was going there in future.

On another point - the 7ft fence. Just double check that you can do this in case your neighbours complain and you've spent your case. As far as I know, you can only put up a fence to the height of 6ft to the rear of your property and up to a height of 4 ft to the front.
