Faulty TV - returning

HI,

We bought a Samsung TV in June (LE 40D503). In the last week the sound tends to 'reverb'/distort on the lower registers.
Phoned the shop and was told to bring it in. They will try to fix it in the shop but if can't will 'send it away' to be looked at. We don't want to be without a TV for 'a week, or two'.
Under consumer rights can it just be replaced straight or do I have to wait the possible two weeks before I know if it's working again?
 
You "might" be offered another tv as a loan (if you ask) - but you need to allow the shop time to resolve the issue... Repair, replace, refund is the process that is followed. BUT you should document EVERYTHING in relation to this issue & keep the record of issue(s), what you did in relation to issue, dates, times, who you talked to...
 
Try contacting Samsung directly. We had to get an engineer out but once they had his report Samsung delivered a replacement to us and collected the old one.
 
They prob won't be able to fix it in the shop, so they are most likely just taking a look first to check the settings etc, and to make sure it is not something that you are doing wrong (like having the TV volume up too high and just controling the volume on sky/upc box). They will know same day if it something as simple as that.

That will weaken your position should you need to pursue this through the legal system. Your contract is with the shop that sold you the unit, you should always attempt to resolve the issue through them first.
