I purchased a suite at the beginning of April.

This suite was delivered on the 10th of April, after 3 weeks one of the recliner chairs broke and pieces of the wood fell out.

I contacted the supplier who informed me that they would send an assessor in to look at the chair.

When he arrived he took photographs of the hole in the base of the chair where the wood fell out and then sent a report to the firm stating that the damage was caused by misuse of the chair.

I then spoke to the firm and assured them that there is no way this chair could have been misused but they are refusing to accept this and refuse to replace the chair or refund my money as I feel that this suite was not fit for purpose in the first place. I

have also sent them a letter stating my complaint but they still refuse to accept any responsibility.

Where do I go from here?

Contact "The Consumer Show", piece on sofas last week. Tell the shop of your intentions.

Stand your ground, give them a deadline by which you would like either repair, replacement, refund and then follow the small claims route.
