Hi there!
Just looking for some advice. I purchased a dress in Warehouse a few weeks ago. The first night I wore the dress it ripped at the seams and on closer inspection there seems to be a few loose threads on the dress as well. I got the dress repaired in a dress makers and the exact same thing happened. My question is can i bring this dress back or what are my rights if any?
Thanks

You shouldn't have had it repaired, you should have brought it back to the shop straight away. A faulty item is intitled to a full refund. How long have you had the dress?

no I dont think your really can now as you have had it repaired so they wont entertain you at all,,,

Thanks for the quick replies. Bought the dress two weeks ago, i got it repaired as I wanted to wear it to a wedding at the weekend and was not too sure of my rights.

... was not too sure of my rights.
As you have attempted a repair yourself without giving the shop an opportunity to rectify the problem, the shop is under no obligation to do anything for you. I believe all you can do is go back to the dressmaker that did the alterations.

where on the dress did it rip? Was it perhaps a bit too small? The shop might ask this.

Hi guys,

Yes I still have the receipt. Its a silk dress and it ripped at the seam at the bottom of the dress. It is also starting to rip at the shoulder area and there are little loose threads beginning to show all over the dress! I emailed customer service in UK and they told me to bring it back to the shop or post it to UK

I think you should return it, you bought it with intention of wearing it..not having to run to and fro to the dressmakers to have it constantly repaired.
Glad to hear they were understanding and that you got it sorted.

As you bought it from a shop you should return it to the shop not the manufacturer.
Sewing silk needs a specialist, it's not like sewing cotton or other fabrics.
The hem seems a strange place to rip. Is this a bias cut dress, needs even more care
