Faulty camera

I bought a digital camera in Feb 08 which stopped working in August 08. As I misplaced receipt unhelpful shop assistant said they couldn't help without receipt. I just found receipt but shop says it's too late. Surely if manufacturer check it out they will see that it stopped working while under warranty. help

Sometimes these things are insured if you bought them with your credit card (which I know no one on this board uses anymore!)

I had camera problems a few years ago and Visa came up trumps for me.
