i have been working temp jobs on and off this year (not by choice)
i am finishing up again today and signing on monday

just wonder if anybody has done any of the business courses in fas ecollege i would love to do a few of them but im absolutely broke and have already started an evening course had to borrow price of that and now dont have the price of the registration fees ... if one has been signing on for a certain amount of time are there any courses which are free of charge - i dont want to take anything full time as i hope to be temping on and off or preferably working full time

thanks

Hi ubend...yes, if you're signing on you can do day courses and they'll basically pay your sign on money for you (basde on attendance).

I did a CCNA course through FAS when I came back from Australia a number of years ago when times were hard [plays very small violin].

Best bet is to get in touch with FAS and they'll give you a list of courses you can do.
Alternatively check out their website for the courses.

Best of luck.

I mailed FÁS recently regarding a similar matter and they told me to contact my local FÁS office and ask to speak to the employment officer.

Years ago when i was on the scratcher they paid the full course fee for me for an alarm installation course which was run on Saturday mornings. I think it was a couple of hundred punts.

just on this topic, does anyone know how long they (social) give you for the ccna (for arguments sake) i.e. if you're to look at the ccna course you could have it read through online in a week, but that doesn't mean you'd have it passed\studied..... how long do they give you without bugging you to take some non relevant crap jobs?? will they leave you on benefit studying something like this for a couple months?? does anyone know??
