Hi All,

Please can anyone advise me of the eligability requirements of the above. Briefly, unemployed for last two years, claimed unemployment benifit for approx eighteen months until it exhausted, since then i continue to seek employment while signing for credits (first time unemployed, not easy when living in the country!)

Having checked the Fas web site i applied and was offered a C.E. placement, a day later i was informed by an officer from Fas that i was not eligable as i needed to be claiming a monetary benifit, more to the point it seems i'm not eligable for any of the Fas placements.
Has anyone else experienced this problem?

Re: Fas C.E. placement.

Hi Gypsy Girl, There is information at about Community employment. One scheme is for over 25's and another longer scheme for over 35's. There are qualifying conditions for both. All the information is on the website.

You may not be eligible for CE, but you might be eligble for an LTI (Local Training Initiative) Course. Have a look at www.fas.ie to see if there is any LTI courses of interest to you, in your area. The eligibility criteria is not as strict as CE.

Best of luck
