Dear Jamie - a cookie is very unlikely to contain an executable piece of code and is in no way equivalent to a trojan/virus as suggested in your article about computer viruses/trojans etc. in yesterday's Irish Times. :\

Maybe the rogue alien porno-cookies ate his brain while he was writing up his piece? :rolleyes

he gets a hard time on some mailing lists/tech boards :)

If personally find the quality of IT/technical journalism in Ireland in general (not just the Irish Times) pretty poor to be honest. On the topic of Irish Times tech coverage poor oul' Karlin Lillington went rapidly down in my estimation when she hitched her wagon onto [broken link removed] arguably dodgy triumph in the Young Scientist and Technology Exhibition a few years back. But I'm sure that she won't lose any sleep over my opinions. :)

Do you know anything more about Adnan Osmani's Xwebs browser? Has it ever been tested yet or developed for sale? If it does what it says on the tin, why hasn't it been hugely successful??
