Of course, you can cheat and look the answer up - i did - it was driving me mental.


See if you can get the right answer. (You may need a calculator!)

There are 7 girls on a bus

Each girl has 7 backpacks

In each backpack, there are 7 big cats

For every big cat there are 7 little cats

Question: How many legs are there in the bus?

Yeah I got 10990 as well - which makes me think that we are probably both wrong

Including a driver methinks 1600. eh scratch that , yes 10990 with no driver trickery.

The answer is 10990 - I got this last week with a password protected spreadsheet and the right answer was the password (i.e. 10990)

Well as I said, assumed driver went off for a coffee, altho' if it's a school bus then they should be on a work stoppage for more pay. ( very much deserved too, I mean who'd accept €11.50/hr for a busload of screaming kids n cats !!! )

Originally thought the trick bit was that everyone would add in 4 legs per girl too after doing all the cats instead of 2 !

Mind you I'm glad we got it rignt, wudn't do the street cred any good for a beancounter ? ( unless I was on I'm a celebrity.....now what is 47-20 again....oh yeah the answer is 20% of 60 oh mannnn !)

girls = 7 x 2 legs = 14
bags = 7 x 7 = 49
cats = 49 x 7 =343 x 4 legs = 1372
kittens = 343 x 7 = 2401 x 4 legs = 9604
14+1371+9604 = 10990

PS the driver just came back from McDonalds so that's now 10992

Oh thanks forgot there were 7 bags and then the setup was tricky (for me).

Thank God he's not working for Ironroid Eireann.


PS - don't know what MugsGame is up to above us. - How did he/she get a 5 digit answer in octal format? lol
 
Well all the girls were on the bus so only the driver was in the bus making it 2 legs or 0 if the driver wasn't in it.
 
And if any of the passengers were intoxicated would they be discounted for being legless ???
