Family Sun Holiday - October

Looking for some advice or suggestions :

Looking for a week sun holiday in Mid of October for a family with 2 kids (5 & 2 years). Looking for sun, beach, pool, some other activities. Was thinking about Spain but never been their before so not sure about the weather and where to go...open for any other suggestions
 

You can be very lucky with Spain, Med. coast of France, Portugal and Italy in October. By the same token, you can get rain and wind in thses areas also. I would take the doubt out of it and chance the Canary Islands.
