Myself and my wife are experiencing significant difficulties, and are now living apart under the one roof. I am finding this very difficult to handle. I would like to have a talk with a family law solicitor just to see where I stand. It would appear that counselling etc is not going to work, and my wife appears to want an amicable legal separation. Could someone recommend a family law solicitor who would talk to me and outline the range of possible outcomes to this in terms of family home, child access, spousal and child support and pension rights. I'm not looking for some mega hot shoot expensive solicitor but just someone reasonable who knows about these things and how things would be likely to end up if things got into a contentious judicial separation. Thank you in advance for any help

@scatman - you could buy or consult the Law Society Family Law book.

Its very comprehensive and is readable. Why dont you start with that?

These things are rarely 'amicable' and once there are lawyers involved there is going to expense.

Scatman, I can recommend Beverly Turner - see [broken link removed]
Best of luck!
