Family holiday in the sun

We have done the 'France' thing for the past few years & we need a change. Can anybody recommend a sun holiday destination for a family(3 boys age 12 to 5)in Spain, Portugal,anywhere but with good facilities to suit these ages, nice restaurants nearby and near beach. Don't want loud discos or pubs nearby. Comfort of apartment block rather than villa as transport to/from airport arranged then. Not too long a flight-max 3 hours from Dublin.All suggestions welcome as choosing from brochures is mind-boggling. Thks
 
We went to Regina Gran Hotel in Salou, loved it. Rooms very spacious and indoor and outdoor pool Flew Ryanair to Reus and transferred with ryanair coaches, very efficient. Hotel is about 10 mins walk from beach and very quiet. Look on Trip advisor
There is an excellent train service from there to Barcelona and also Tarragona which has the most amazing cathedral I have ever seen. Booked rooms on Alpharooms excellent value.
 
And Jubi didn't even mention the Port Aventura theme park or Caribe water park in Salou which is fantastice for Kids ( and adult kids). You also have monserat and the fab Andorra to visit although this is probably not on with the children., this linkw will give you a bucket load of info on Salou www.salou.co.uk
