So the father of my child dumped me a couple days ago. He recieves monies for all three of us but now I will have to arrange to get money paid directly to me for me and the baby. Currently we are his 'dependents'.

We just got our Rent Supplement through too and now this will obviously have to change. He is hoping to apply from his new location and I am hoping to keep the RS for mine and baby's address.

Does anyone know what happens next? I will have to go into Social Welfare and inform them of the change in circumstance and then write to RS people and tell them aswell. Are we (me and baby) likely to be without money for a while while we get taken off his claim and get a new one set up? I will likely be asked for documents such as bank statements so will our claim be suspended until I get all info back to them? All info appreciated, thank you.

A visit to Citizens Information office when they re open Monday would be a good place to start, you will get lots of info. Treoir are worth calling too, 1890252084.

Give them a ring, call today and leave a message, they will call you back when open.

That's a great idea, thank you wbbs. Might save me going all the way in with the baby - who's not very well right now.

Which one of you is currently receiving your childs benefit payment? If its the father then you should also change this into your name.

Yes. Arrange an appointment with your local Community Welfare Officer who may be able to provide some emergency payments until all your Social Welfare payments are sorted out.

Hi Guns N Roses. The child benefite is in my name so that's one less thing to do. Not looking forward to seeing our CWO, I don't usually get a lot of help off him.
