Fair Deal Nursing Home Calculations

I've just been looking at the calculations for the Fair Deal Scheme

Could you possibly advise me if my figures are right

Home Value 50k (yes it's almost worthless)

Cash Assets 80k

Income from Pension 240 euros per week

So our contribution would be

80% of 240 = 192

5% of cash assets - 4000 = roughly 80 euro per week
5% of 50k - 36k =14k = 700 euros = 14 euros per week

Total = 286

Do you still get the Contributary Widows Pension and if so would the cost be just 46 euros per week??

Just for anyone interested in this topic after ringing around the Fair Deal Nursing Home Deal is up in air. Officially they are saying it's still running but there is no funding for it. Applications are being accepted but you can bet your bottom dollar you won't get an answer until Janaury. So we have to wait until the budget to see how they deal the funding issue

As the scheme was property based it is surely doomed in it's current form ?
