Fair deal enquiry after death of relative

Hse has asked for schedule of assets for my aunt who died recently after availing of fair deal scheme in the years preceding her death. Does this have to be through her solicitor or is there a schedule that we can complete ourselves.
 
You can do yourself.

Presumably there will also be a schedule for Revenue.

Both should be the same.
 
You should have received a Frequently Asked Questions sheet with the request from the HSE for the schedule of assets.

What they are looking for is a copy of the Inland Revenue Affidavit (CA 24), which you or your solicitor completes as part of the probate process.

In some cases, if the value of the assets is low or if all assets were held jointly probate might not be necessary. If this is the case the HSE has a standard form to list the deceased persons assets, no solicitor is required. The HSE will send this form out on request.

The frequently asked questions sheet also says to contact them if you need assistance and they will help with any queries you might have.
 
Your aunt would have furnished an 5 or 6 page application with details of her assets to fair deal at the start of the process. This is just a cross check that there has been no significant change in assets in the period she was availing of the fair deal. You can do the forms yourself or if the CA24 is being done simply send them a copy.
