I am waiting to hear from my employers about what redundancy package and notice period I am being given. But I think by the ways things are going it will be statutory only I am there about 4 years. So about two months wages.
My husband was made redundant in December and was told that he was not entitled to the dole due to me working and the fact he was self-employed in 2008. We rent and our rent is 800 euro a month. I have never been on the dole before and don't really know how the whole thing works. Been trying to get through to Citizens advice but never seem to get anywhere with the constant backlog of calls.
Was hoping somebody here might have an idea if we will both get the dole and rent allowance due to my redundancy? Worried that I won't get a job straight away and we will be in trouble. My husband is looking for work but not getting anywhere yet.
