Just browsing and came across this hotel in Nenagh;
[broken link removed]
When I went to check out the price this was one of the conditions:
Heat and electricity is charged at 8 euro per day per lodge.
Cleaning - 1 Clean for the 3 Bedroom Lodge is 35 euro.
These costs are additional and will be charged on departure.
Check out time for the Lodges is 10am.

I wont be going...

Most self-catering includes either an electricity/fuel cost and a cleaning fee, well most that I've looked at. At least it's not hidden.

I have rented several holiday homes in Ireland ( the one above is a lodge attached to the hotel) and have never had to pay a cleaning fee .Nor have I had to pay extra for Gas and electricity nor have I ever been asked to leave at 10am..
I have paid it abroad if I wasn't prepared to clean it to the standard I found it, after a TWO WEEK ,not a ONE or TWO DAY stay..Next thing we know we will have to pay for the room in the hotel to be cleaned..either way..they have lost my business,its a step too far to pay,149e for the room,plus 35e to have it cleaned after a one night stay plus 8 e,for gas and electritfy plus I would have to be out by ten..no thanks,Ill go somewhere else ,who is more accomadating and has less add ons to the price.
Its a bit like the Ryanair model..

I used to work there :)

It's a fine hotel, realy nice

But I agree, 10am is far too early for checkout time

No shortage of self catering around that area, you'll find somewhere else

Rent somewhere out by Lough Derg, Dromineer, Terryglass or Garrykennedy.
There are lodges in Puckane too

North Tipp, the most beautiful part of Ireland :cool:
