Just wondering if anyone has any experience with bringing extra luggage
on a long-haul flight. My ticket allows for two bags in the hold, plus a laptop bag and carry-on bag. However I bought a painting in a frame, about 1m*70cm. Anyone got any idea how airlines treat this, when checking in? I know I'll be charged extra to bring it, but will I be allowed bring it on board or will I be forced to put it in the hold????? (Also any idea how much it will cost?). I called the desk but wasnt given a straight answer, due to language problems.

For anyone who booked after July 1st for long haul flights on aer lingus the new baggage allowance is just one case per person up to max weight of 23kg. Extra bags will be charged at €40 a pop
