external multimedia harddrive

Hi all,

thinking of getting a multimedia HD to watch all the video files on my macs.

I need something that connects via hdmi to the tv and plays avi.

I found one on pixmania for 122. any cheaper ones out there ??

I don't need massive space as i delete after i watch. 250 GB would be fine.

otherwise, hang around for the ibood argosys which pop up every 3-4 weeks, they should be in the 750gb range for about 150euro now. If you want one right now, that one you found will do the job.

Peat's (and others) are selling an Iomega multimedia hard drive for around €140 for 500GB. Another €30 or so for 1 TB of space. Iomega also do HD versions for a little more again.

Having seen one in action, they seem excellent.

'Standard' AVI files may not support full HD. You'd need to be sure that your content is HD compatible, before buying the hardware.
