External microphone for laptop

Hello All,

I am looking for an external microphone for my laptop so that I can audio record the lectures I attend in college and go back over them for revision. The quality of the recording at the moment without the microphone is quite poor. I am looking for something that is not in your face - but is compact but also gives good recording capabilities.

Does anyone have any suggestions? I had a look online - but nothing stood out.

The first question here is do you have the agreement of the college/lecturer to this?

If you do then get a small dictaphone and leave it on the podium.
If not you need to talk to a PI

A skype or similar headset has an external mic
