We are planning to build an extension of 5m long X 10m wide at back of our existing bungalow. We have received the first set of drawings for a single storey extension from the architect and are happy with the layout. However, we are now considering whether we should go further and develop the attic space of the extension to include a bedroom and en-suite. There seems to be a lot of attic space going to waste.
Has anyone any idea whether this would add a lot to the overall cost of the project. We're hoping that if we are building anyway there shouldn't be that much extra cost involved?
The architect reckons a cost of approx €200 per sq foot (€2100 per m2) should cover a single storey extension (South East area). How much would we need to add on in order to make it a dormer?
