Hi
We have recently purchased a three bed bungalow. We are looking at the option of extending off the kitchen and creating a living space adjacent to it. This would not be an extension of the end of the house though, the roof line will be butting into the exisitng roof line - kind of creating a T shaped house when looking at it from the air.
I have spoken to a few 'lay' builders who have said the costs associated with creating a new roof line etc would make this an extension not worth doing.
Is it really that much trouble to butt a roof into an exisitng one compared to extending along the length of a bungalow. This would transform the house too as the views this extension would benefit from would be amazing - out over the sea.
The total extension would not be much more than approx 20 sqm and we do think creating this new shape really would transform the place.
any hints from people who have done a similar thing?
Thanks
