Hello, I'm wondering if anyone knows if the community welfare officer can help with the payment of a bill for a scan? I'm on opfp with a medical card and my daughter needs a brain scan, our gp has referred us for a private scan but even with our medical card it will cost me 200 euro which I just don't have.

I rang the SVP but they said they can't help with medical bills, advice anyone?

Thanks

I don't know the answer to your question. Maybe if you ring or even better call around to the clinic and explain your situation they could do it for less or allow you to pay it off weekly.

While medical expenses would not normally be paid or part-paid by SWA Exceptional Needs Payment, you should contact your local SWA Officer (formerly the Community Welfare Officer) who can assess your situation in detail.
