Hi,

I am looking from some info on outsroucing deals within ireland, and the impact on the outsourced employees. In particular, I am looking for details of any deals which were agreed as part of an outsourcing solution which invovled a payment to the affected employee's for moving from one employer to another. I am asking as an employee going through this process myself, and we have been asked to get some examples to see what the averages are for this kind of deal in Ireland.

Wexfordman, are you talking about an employee of one outsourcing provider moving into employment of another outsourcing provider? As I understand it there is no obligation on either employer to provide a "deal", other than to guarantee you the exact same terms and conditions as you had before:

I am talking about an employee of 1 company being outsourced to another company. I understand there is no obligation for present or future employer to provide anything other than that stated as part of TUPE. I am looking for some details however, on gratuity payments paid to employees transferring from one employer to another as part of an outsourcing deal. These payments are often made, although as you state, not in any way obligitory. I am looking for a source where I can get indications of what type, average, low or high these payments have been across other companies, and what formulae is generally accepted in comming up with a figure, i,e cost to company, company profitability, savings estimated, loss of benefits in transfer etc etc. Kind of need it in a hurry, so just wondering if anyone had any info to hand or could pm me with some pointers ?

if you part of a union they should be able to quote / obtain examples of what you are looking for...
