I separated from my husband 13 years ago and am now 65. I worked for 2/3 years after we married but stopped when I was about 27. My husband worked until he was 63 without a break. Am I eligible for a State pension on his and my stamps?
The contributory state pension will be based on your own contributions, irrespective of your marital status. have a look here for info about the qualifying requirements and here if you want to see how you're fixed for Homemaker's scheme.
You may be entitled to a portion of his employer-paid pension; when you separated did you draw up a separation agreement or did you get a Judicial separation? Was his pension included in the settlement terms?
we have a separation agreement. he gave me a lump sum representing half the value of the house and pays me €158 per week. the only note relative to the pension is where i will get half his pension if he dies before me.
