Hi, Can anyone please advise, a large multinational company is making a small number of people redundant (less than 10).They reduced the redundancy payments by a few weeks, is there any come back or point of fighting this decrease? The company is not in financial difficulty and want to move out of Ireland for strategic reasons

They will have to abide by the law in relation to statutory redundancy which applies to employees with two years' service. see here

thanks, they will pay the statutory but have reduced the ex-gratia amount they will pay. Altough they previously stated they would pay 4 weeks ex-gratia, this has been reduced to two weeks now with no reasoning, is there any point in challenging? (on top of statutory)

I dont know maybe if they had put it in writing they would have committed to it, though I reckon you are lucky to get anything above the statutory..

Generally speaking companies who offer 4 weeks redundancy pay mean 2 weeks statutory plus 2 weeks ex-gratia. Is it possible that there was any mis-understanding.
Did they give you an offer in writing
