Eurostat yesterday published projections of the populations of EU regions to 2031.
All regions are ageing, especially eastern Germany, parts of Italy, Spain and much of central Europe.
Some regions will grow in population (including Ireland's two regions).
Many regions will see population falls.
Eastern Germany will be hit hard, with up to 70% old-age dependency rates in regions like Dresden, etc.
