Euros 24.

The Spanish are worthy champions ...great win and ........it's still coming 'home' ..

It has been a Euros to forget for Modric, Ronaldo, Mbappe, Kane, Bellingham etc. But Yamal is one to watch for the future..
What a player he is going to be ...
It was a poor Euros over all , in my opinion..

Very poor and disappointing.

So many great players, none of whom made a mark on the tournament.

With the exception of Modric who defied the advancing years and was excellent.
It was however great to see the emergence of players like Williams , Lamal , Olmo , Arda Guler , Kvaratskhelia & Cole Palmer .
Not the best tournament but both semis & the final were most enjoyable & Spain are undoubtedly quite brilliant .

England were very very poor. If they had been in the other side of the draw they wouldn't have made the final. They played poorly enough and got out of an 'easy 'group. They stuttered through against a decent Slovakia by one good goal and a lucky one .They had to rely on five good penalties, for once, to beat the Swiss. They beat Holland by a penalty and a decent goal
It would have been an insult to Spain had England won the final.
Spain are worthy champions, the beat the better teams along the way.

England certainly fluked their way to the final, lucky Generals etc.

Cannot fathom why a clearly knackered & off form Kane was allowed start.

For most of these matches he was in his own timezone, 40 seconds behind play.

Had they started Watkins and Palmer yesterday they'd have won (left Kane and Foden on bench).

I very much doubt that England have won no matter what team Southgate put out .
Yes they were initially discomfited by Watkins running beyond them unlike Kane who played in front of them but like all good teams quickly adapted and despite Palmer’s excellent equaliser reasserted their dominance immediately.
Watkins & Palmer were pretty anonymous after that .
The only reason why England remained close was due to Pickford’s superb saves while Simon was essentially redundant until the last few minutes.

Kane doesn’t seem to have been fit enough to play in this tournament. Strong rumours about him carrying a back problem.

If he was injured, his insistence on carrying on and the apparent unwillingness of Southgate to drop him may have cost England the tournament although they would need to have been at their absolute best to beat Spain.

They've been really lucky right up to the final.

Luck sometimes needs you to help it along.

Southgates continued & absolute belief in a poorly performing player probably led Luck to throw their hat at it and look for someone about to buy a lotto ticket in a newsagents in Balljamesduff.

Exactly.

Spain won all of its qualifiers - the only team to do so.

They have a lot of exceptionally talented young players.

They play high up and can break down any defence with quick & smart passing and they are relentless.

Most of its players can score. Up to the final match I think Spain had something like 13 different goal scorers.

I couldn't understand why Germany, France or England were the early favourites. All three are defensive, and hope opposing teams will make a mistake, which is why they are such a drag to watch.

But that type of game plan doesn't work against highly creative and talented teams, such as Spain or the better South American and emerging African & Asian countries.

The other point is that Spain play as a team rather than everything around one player.

Surprised to learn that Spain are the first team to win all their games at the Euro finals.
Even more surprised to learn that Brazil in 2002 are the only team to do that at the World Cup.
