Is it possible to open a credit card account in Euroland from Ireland and avoid the 40 yoyo tax?

Even if it was, would you not pay €13-ish every time you paid your bill (to a foreign bank)?

Bank transfer orders within the eurozone coutries that include IBAN and BIC must be charged the same as domestic transfers. My latest AIB fees statement shows that to be €0.30, not the €13-ish you .

euro credit card

HI

having purchased a small place in France and having opened a French bank account to fund local bills, I was automatically issued with a French Credit Card, if I decide to use the card I can fund it by French Internet Banking, so no worries there, and I presume no Irish Government tax?

IANAL but I would imagine that Biffo's taxing power (ex-Charlie's) extends only to cards issued within the borders of the Republic.<!--EZCODE BR START--><!--EZCODE BR END--><!--EZCODE BR START--><!--EZCODE BR END-->Now before the spectre of the Grim Reaper is raised, there are steps that can be taken to remove foreign holdings from the clutches of the Mandarins of Merrion Street albeit the alternatives might not be so desireable (e.g. death/inheritence taxes in France are lower than in Ireland but there are several issues surrounding residency).<!--EZCODE BR START--><!--EZCODE BR END--><!--EZCODE BR START--><!--EZCODE BR END-->YMMV
