Got our ESB bill recently and the joy of the reduced price per unit as heralded months ago quickly evaporated when we noticed the daily standing charge has INcreased by a similar amount!
By the way, ESB bills have to be one of the most convoluted bills ever, especially when the bill covers a price change.

I don't think there's any 'probably' about it. The standard charge per unit inc. VAT has been reduced by 1.26 cent. The daily standing charge has been increased by 1.36 cent. If 'Standard Domestic' customers use, on average, more than 1 unit of electricity per day (20 is the average in my house) then they will be better off under the new pricing structure.
