Hello,

Can any one advise on the following.

The esb meter is located on the side of my house near the road.THe door has been broken by vandals a couple of times!! It has cost me €80 approx a time to get new door fitted, as is generally the door that gets smashed etc etc..

my question is, am I responsible to fix this or is it the esb?

any advise would be greatly appriecated,

thanks

AFAIK the meter itself is their equipment. You bought and installed the box so that's your responsibility.

If it's that bad with vandals get this box made from aluminum.

ours was damaged and then came home one day and a brand new one had been fitted. Got a non estimated bill shortly after so assumed esb repaired it after seeing broken one at meter reading.

Who installed the meter? Who owns the meter? Who decided on the positionoing of the Meter? If it is your responsibilty it will be coverted by your house isurance. If it ESB responsibility, as in my case, it comes under their insurance.

Hi,
The door of our meter was broken, I think because it hadn't been locked properly by the meter reader and was bashed about in a storm shortly after. I rang them and they came something like 8 months later to replace it, I rang every now and again to remind them! If you call their Customer Service number on your bill they will give you the number to contact.
