I have a new ESB power installation to a studio apartment snce July 2008. I has night rate line as well. The meter is a digital meter and was installed at the same time in the same wall as a meter from adjoining house. The wiring was done to standard specifications.I have consistently received very high bills even though the apartment is only used occasionally.Despite constant calls to ESB no help.I got my electrician to rechech wiring and I got the technician from ESB networks to check. They both admit that I was incorrectly billed from my neighbours meter in other words I was paying for my neighbours electricty and she was for mine.Over one and a half years I have been overcharged for more than 9000 units of electricty approx .€1600.
I am awaiting ESB networks report on Tuseday next.My questions are 1.Am I entitled to a full refund by cheque and not amount credited to my ESB account? 2. Should I take case to the Ombudsman to get a satisfactory outcome? Should I be entitled to additional compensation ,payment for electrician to check up on their fault? Any suggestions welcome
