ESB and Bord Na Mona Ad

Does anyone know where you could find the old ESB ads (a son is coming home to visit the parents; dad gets up in the middle of the night to feed the baby) and the Bord na Mona ad (family at fire). Love those ads - real nostalgic......

Why don't ESB / Bord Na Mona rerun these........

I think the ESB one in question had Dusty Springfield singing "Goin' Back". . Was the BnM ad the one with your man from The Dubliners playing Marino Waltz on the fiddle? .

Think you are right - John Sheahan.

...and the son coming home was played by Alan Hughes of TV3 fame.

TV ads are very expensive to make and run.

These clasic tv ads were part of an advertising campaign designed to deliver a specific message to a target audience.

To run them now ten or twenty later when both the message and the audience has changed would be a waste of money.

However you could contact the marketing departments of the ESB and BnM and ask them to post the ads on youtube. You could also find out who the ad agency was and contact them. I think the BnM one was mcconnells.
