Hi
I was just wondering if anyone knew what entitlements there was for someone who was a director of a compnay that has recently folded.

Thanks in advanced

If you had a shareholding in the Company greater than 15%, you will be entitled to nothing in respect of unpaid wages, holiday pay etc, minimum notice and redundnacy.

If your PRSI class was S (which I assume it was) you will be entitled to very little from the state, as follows;

Widow's or Widower's (Contributory) Pension
Guardian's Payment (Contributory)
State Pension (Contributory)
Maternity Benefit
Adoptive Benefit
Bereavement Grant

Unforunately, you will not be entitled to claim the dole as result of your Company folding.

Certainly, if your company has folded, and if you are looking for and available for work, you CAN claim the dole (Jobseeker's Allowance). This will be means-tested.

In respect of a Proprietary Director, is there not a period of time that must lapse before a Director can apply to the state for assistance?

I.e can he apply for state assistance immediately upon the liquidation of his Company?
