entitlement to sw payment?

scenario... friend took seasonal job at store... was falsely accused (it has been to the board and all resolved, she admitted she made it up) of verbally abusing a staff member (who happened to be middle management)....
due to this, friend has felt that he was left with no option but to leave..
now social welfare as saying that he is not entitled to job seekers nything...
leaving all else aside, apart from social welfare:

- is this correct?
- or as he left technically is there a certain length of time before sw will pay?
what are the options?????

sorry meant that it was technically his decision to leave... that they did not let him go..

thanks for info... will have a read.
and now... on top of that sw have lost the file.... endless really!!
