hi MaryKate,
i have lived most of my life in ennafort park and love it there. grew up there and am still there 24years later. Its a really settled neighbourhood. Quite old, most houses were built in the mid to late 50's and some show their age. The neighbours around me are all friendly and some of the kids that were there are still their now with their own families. some neighbours keep to themselves others are more out and about. there is hardly any break ins or report of crime. no kids tend to hang around the place late at night. in terms of location i dont think you'll find better in raheny. harmonstown dart is only around the cornor. 31/32/29 bus routes all run through the village. the shopping centre is fine with supervalu and also a couple of newsagents/butchers/pharmacies all on your door stop. parking can be a bit of hassle and they have started to charge for it i think too in the car park down the back, not too sure on that though. if you need more then there is clarehall 5 min drive away. also town is only 15mins by dart and nights out are cheap to get home from using the drink link or taxi.
as for schools i went to scoil eanna first. my parents took me out of there at second class then i headed to killester primary boys school. killester is a great school with some great facilities, but tends to fill up early so book well in advance. scoil eanna i was taken out of cos it was heading down hill but that was about 20yrs ago so could have gotten better by now. secondary schools in the area are not too bad but remeber that since you will be on the dart line you could head further out to howth or into town if you think there are better schools to suit your childrens needs.
aminities in the area, well you have the park which includes numerous football pitches, good walks, pitch and putt course, tennis courts. then after that you can walk to dollymount strand. raheny GAA, raheny united soccer club, raheny shamrocks running club, scouts den all in the village. garda station beside the GAA club. there are some pubs in the village the best of which is the watermill in my opinion.
cant really think of any bad bits but then maybe i dont see them as well as others since i have been living there most of my life. others might point them out to you.
hope this helps and good luck with the move if you go ahead.
