English father - right to English passport?

Not sure if this is the correct place to ask this but i have a friend who has an english father, she was told that she could obtain an english passprt? is this correct? she was born in ireland. she also is asking does a holde rof an english passport have rights to entre the US without a greencard???

I presume you mean a UK passport?

A US Green Card is a Permanent Residence Card. You don't necessarily need on just to enter the US. UK and Irish (and other) passport holders normally qualify for the visa waiver scheme when entering the US for business and pleasure trips. Emigrating to live and work in the US is another matter. I don't think that a UK passport is any more advantageous than an Irish passport in this respect.
