We are just starting out on a self build. In the process of looking for a site at the moment. I am attempting to do a cost assessment and am going to start with an engineer or architect. Which should I choose? Ideally I suppose I want some one who'll design my house, take care of the planning and then sign off on work when I need the money from the bank. However if I have to use one person to design the house and get planning and another to do sign offs so be it
