Engine monitoring light query.

Re the above,
light just came on my vw, its just had a service, nct, etc, new timing belt, turbo pipes replaced, 4 new breaks, 5 tyres, clutch etc.

How much on average is it to run the diagnostic test and do I have to go to a main dealer?

Just in case you get your hands on a OBD II scan tool. Alot of mechanics may have these also and cheaper than a main dealer - at least to check!
