I am in love with my old BMW. It is an 1988 BMW 325. 2494 cc
I have been told by 2 different mechanics that there is a crack in the block. I can see oil in the water. I ve also been told the head gasket is gone. I have to top up the water about every 100 km.
the thing is I really want to keep my car. I would love to get a new engine and put it into it... I have two questions 1) where can i get a new engine and 2) can I put a smaller engine into it so that it would not use so much petrol and so that it would cost less to tax it.
I don't mind driving to England to get one if that is an option?? I really appricate any help with this its hard to get information.. I know some polish mechanics who would fit the engine for me for less money than a garage if I get an engine. Much appreciated. Katie
