Hi All

Moved into a newly built house recently. However it is extremely cold at times and doesn't seem to retain the heat at all.

Has anyone ever got their house audited re insulation, heat setting etc.Alternatively a list of tips for this area would be much appreciated.
 
Can you not identify the key causes of heat loss yourself - e.g. poorly fitting windows/doors, draughty chimney/wall vents, no or insufficient insulation in the attic etc.?
 
I moved into a new house approx 4 years ago at xmas. The remainder of the winter was pretty cold in the house. Something about the house/walls not being dried out fully. I think it depends on how well the house has dried out before you mover in. Not a builder so don't understand the complexities.

The following and subsequent winters haven't been as bad.

Stand corrected on this of course.
