It looked as enda had just got a xmas pressie at age 5. But the really galling thing is we are paying for that phone. how will he manage the 24 hour charging??

I think he was just trying to take a pic of the Pope or maybe wondering why the coverage was so bad,no problem with the tax payer paying for the phone,he is the Taoiseach.

I have little time or respect for the current Pope so even if he had been surfing porn on his I phone thingy I wouldn't have been that bothered.
 
It doesn't matter if you or even Enda Kenny don't have respect for the pope. He should have had respect for the occasion or else not have gone. Would you play with your phone during a business meeting or a presentation? It was ignorance personified.
 
He is not the only one who got a new iphone!
Someone I know in the public service just got a brand spanking new iphone.
Stunning that these are being given out to staff when there are supposed to be cutbacks!

To be fair they are probably getting free upgrades from the network.

I know my phone from work get a replactment from vodafone every two years.
 
well if Enda got a free upgrade I bet he will still claim his mobile phone allowance like all the others do. Enda did it deliberately to show the rest of us he does not give a toss with regard to cutbacks. I bet he was calculating his pension. And is he not an EX schoolteacher?

I wonder would he have behaved like that if it was OBAMA? I doubt it.

I wonder will he get it back in spades at his next press conference... oops forgot he is kept well away.

There's a regular thread in broadsheet about IndaKinny and his phones.

One is a smartphone, the other a 'vintage' NOKIA 6310i. Curious that he should carry two phones. Maybe he's waiting to be shown how to transfer contacts from the old to the new ?

The 6310 was a great/classic phone,believe it or not there are thousands that still use them 7 years after the last one rolled off the assembly line and secondhand ones get snapped up on ebay,think I read somewhere that Denis O Brien still uses one.
 
no, if you recall he made a big show of carrying the nokia and its lack of smartphone facilities, now read on about the debacle on allowances and hey presto up pops enda with his new iphone.

and for the mobile phone fiasco they get an allowance each year to replace the phone and its in the hundreds of euro, but more than likely they get a free phone.
 
The pope and his nuncio have little respect for the people of Ireland. I personally think Enda should be declining invites from the Vatican. I see it as a rogue state protecting a criminal organisation.

The reason they get them is so that they can be fully linked up after office hours, can access the shared network from home, be instantly contactable, etc
It's not for personal use. The grades that get them are usually not entitled to any overtime payments so the taxpayer is actually getting a lot of free extra work from these people.
 
Maybe Michael Noonan was texting him the criteira for the upcoming property tax.
Actually now that I think of it, they have months to sort that out...........

I agree but he want so he should have been statesman-like.
