Encash a PRSA

I want to encash A PRSA worth 28.000k. I am told it will be worth 12.600 if I do. That's minus all the tax relief I got over the years and USC.

I need the cash now for kids college, An ARF is just not of use. I am retiring from Public service , and in receipt of a sufficient pension to allow me do this.

Question:

Do I need a professional financial advisor to do encash it for me or can I do it myself? Zurich are arranging for "maturity options" to be sent to me.

I will do it myself if its a simple procedure? Anyone any idea of how this works? Really appreciate advice. Thank you.

Just follow the instructions on the form and submit the information asked for and you'll be fine.

Ah thanks so much that’s a great relief to know it can be done without having to employ someone to assist ... actually today zurich sent me a standard type letter looking for some info from my pension trustees ... so far it seems ok ... thanks for that indeed
