I was looking for some free legal advise or anyone who may have an answer to this question. If I worked for a company and signed a voluntary lay off form when they needed layoff's and in agreement to signing this lay off form they agreed to pay for my schooling which started later that year. I have the contract they and I signed. Now to find out the company in question has finally claimed bankrupcy. Does this company still legally have to pay for my schooling which was in my signed contract. I was curious if anyone knew if they do even tho they are claiming bankrupcy or is that contact void since they have no money? if someone could give me some insite since I have no money to legally go and get a lawyer to answer this question please let me know. or if you know where I can find this answer. please respond.
It is hard to gauge exactly what you are trying to say.
You agreed and signed for voluntary lay off from your employment in exchange for payment of your tutition fees which are to commence later this year, is that correct??
I think you may need to be a bit more specific
Are you living in Ireland?
How long have you been working for this organisation?
Are you entitled to redundancy?
Can you seek advice from a citizen's information center or employment rights group?
Yes I am saying that I signed for voluntary lay off with exchange for payment of tuition. I'm not in Ireland Im in Canada. I have worked for them about 3 years. I'm not sure what you mean when you ask if I'm entitled to redundancy? I have no clue where to start looking for information thats why I came to this site
I am sorry to tell you that this is an Irish financial advice website so it is doubtful if anyone here can help you with your query.
You will need to seek advice from some organisation in your own country, are there any labour unions or Canadian public advice centres you can access for information?
