I have a personal PRSA to which I and my employer contribute. I get Schedule E relief on my contribution but how do I get a tax benefit from the employer contribution? There is a single payment made to the PRSA each month.
i.e can I claim tax relief on the gross amount of my employer's contribution or is it accounted for already in the Schedule E process ?
The employer contribution is Benefit in kind but then is allowable as a deduction being for a PRSA. In practice this makes no difference to the employee unless the contribution limits are exceeded. There is a note on this on the citizens information website here ( scroll down to rates )
