Employer not paying bank holidays

Guys, when an employer has failed to pay bank holidays for a period of time (>12 months), whats the best approach to getting this money back and keeping your job ? He's been asked with a response in the line of been thankful for a job..

I'm curious to know how this can be done as each weeks payslip show clearly that the payment was not made.

Advice on how to approach pls.. but know that employer has been asked multiple times and fearing for job loss is too much of a concern to ask again.

Difficult one if not in a union. I don't generally advocate unions; however this is a case in point where they can be useful. Better the collective type action on a matter such as this than to single yourself out.
 
Can you clarify what you mean by "not being paid"? Is he working the bank holiday? It may depend on the terms of his employement, for example, if he is a full time salaried employee, he may not be actually entitled to anything additional.
