Employer Contributions to PRSA not set up by them

I'm looking into setting up a PRSA. I don't have a pension plan in place with my employer and I was wondering if they can make contributions to a PRSA I set up myself? If they can am I correct in understanding that they can make contributions without it being regarded as Benefit-in-Kind for me and it has no effect on my max contribution?
