Hi, Just looking for a bit of advice for my student daughter who up untill recently worked part time at weekends for a guy who ran the catering in a city
A couple of weeks ago he informed her and other staff by text that he will now longer be running the food buisness at the pub and that there wages will be left in the pub for them.

When they went to collect them there was only 50 euro each for them ( some of the full time staff where owed over €1,000 each, my daughter was owed approx €350. Apparently he also owed the pub rent for the past number of weeks and also owed suppliers.

They were left no P45's and despite my daughter requesting a P60 from him since January, she did not receive one, but she was able to request a P21 balancing statement from revenue last month as her wages for 2011 were submitted to revenue by the employer it seems.

What should she do now? is there a specific department she should inform.
What can/does she do about not getting her owed wages
What about P45, Without one will this effect her if she is lucky to get another job elsewhere.
Any advice greatly appreciated

She should contact [broken link removed] to get details of the Govt scheme that funds outstanding wages. Yet another case of where the public purse has to be opened to subsidise private businesses.
